The German Shepherd Dog

The Breed | Care

The purpose of this web site is to provide comprehensive, yet useful information to individuals or organizations who are considering taking ownership of a German Shepherd Dog (GSD) either as a pet or for putting into service.

Choosing a dog for any particular purpose is not something that should be taken lightly. All dog breeds are not the same. They vary in many aspects other than obvious appearance, including intelligence, temperament, and vulnerability to disease.

It is the intent of this web site to aid the prospective dog owner in making an informed decision in determining if the GSD is the best choice to meet their particular needs

Since GSD's are often used as guide dogs for the blind or vision impaired, it is possible that some visitors to this web site may have a significant vision impairment. For this reason, this site is designed to be "user friendly" for the vision impaired, which explains the larger and bolder text used on this site.
